Research Analyst

The Research Analyst will provide research and analytical support to the IT-Non-IT Workgroup (ITW) within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This role is critical in facilitating the IT and non-IT-related initiatives by offering comprehensive research, analysis, and report preparation for decision-making. The Research Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the accurate delivery of project goals by supporting funded and unfunded IT/non-IT initiatives within VHA. This individual will engage in frequent interaction with VHA IT governance bodies and play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of key projects. Key Responsibilities: Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research to gather data relevant to IT and non-IT projects. Analyze complex datasets to generate actionable insights and recommendations. Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports, briefing materials, and updates for ITW leads, stakeholders, and VHA executive leadership. Maintain precise documentation to support strategic decisions. Project Support: Assist with the development of project plans, schedules, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for various initiatives within ITW. Meeting Coordination: Organize and provide logistical support for ITW meetings and briefings, ensuring proper communication with stakeholders. Documentation Management: Maintain documentation of research findings, project updates, and meeting minutes, ensuring accessibility and traceability of project artifacts. Support for IT/Non-IT Initiatives: Facilitate the progression of both IT and non-IT projects, ensuring alignment with VHA's strategic objectives and adherence to governance processes. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Research, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Healthcare Management, or a related field At least 3 years of experience in research and data analysis, preferably within the healthcare or government sector Must have prior acquisition and budget experience with a federal agency. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications, you'll help support and scale Discord's communications efforts across corporate storytelling. We're looking for a strong communicator who thrives in fast-moving environments, has a superpower for bringing clarity and structure to complex work, and is eager to jump in and get things done. Working with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders, you'll help support everything from media inquiries and communications workflows, to launches and cross-functional planning. A major focus of the role will be to help freshen up, organize, and operationalize our communications efforts, including managing and updating talking points documents, improving internal processes, coordinating external agency support, and helping keep teams aligned as projects move quickly. What You'll Be Doing Help organize team structure and communications workflows, improving internal processes and operational organization across Communications at Discord. Coordinate between internal partners and cross-functional teams Triage and support on incoming press requests Manage timelines, approvals, and stakeholder reviews across projects Maintain and organize talking points documents, messaging resources, and internal materials Manage external agency support and day-to-day coordination Track media opportunities, coverage, and ongoing communications priorities Support development of press materials, Q&As, briefing docs, and messaging Keep projects moving in fast-paced, high-volume situations with multiple stakeholders What You Should Have 3+ years experience working in communications (in-house or agency) Strong organizational and operational instincts, with the ability to manage complex workflows A collaborative team player who can navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities, and fast-moving situations with good judgment Ability to move quickly, be resourceful, and deliver high-quality work Familiarity with Discord and/or gaming culture is a plus This position is US-based and can be remote but if you live in the Bay Area, you’re welcome to work from our beautiful SF office. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $116,000 to $130,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
